We developed the concept over 20 years ago to address the environmental, economic, and spatial challenges we faced then. Our approach focused on delivering high-quality, sustainable buildings at a fixed cost and within a short timeframe by combining design and off-site construction in-house, using the latest technology in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)‚ exceeding the structural and thermal performance of many modern homes.

At gyd modular, we are wholly committed to producing outstanding sustainable modular garden rooms and studios to suit your individual needs.
Our modular buildings are made mainly from sustainable wood from renewable, certified sources. Our off-site production improves quality control, efficiency and eliminates waste through recycling. What’s more, our designs maximise energy efficiency with high insulation values through thick multi-layered floors, walls and roofs. For example, our optional Sedum roofs improve insulation and create green space while low-energy, underfloor heating ensures you stay warm in colder seasons.
Using a modular building as a home office means no commute, which will drastically reduce your carbon footprint. Our typical buildings also require very little maintenance including no treatment or re-decoration to any external or internal walls. We can even integrate renewable energy options including photovoltaic solar panels, ground & air source heat pumps, wind turbines, biomass boilers and log burning stoves.
Our Studio
Our friendly, open-plan office at Grace Yard in Ashford, Kent is where all the architectural magic happens. Working together in our studio, we share ideas, discuss projects and combine our creativity. This ensures clients receive the best of our joined-up expertise and experience. Being a small, hands-on, collaborative team, we are able to work together closely on projects and build good relationships with our clients. Between us, we have many years of experience in the world of architecture and modular design and a large body of work and wide catalogue of projects to draw upon.

It is a well-established practice with a reputation for rethinking existing spaces to create beautiful and functional buildings. It has extensive experience working on a diverse range of projects, including residential extensions, listed properties, new homes as well as commercial business locations.
