Modular Home in Conservation Area

Modular Home in Conservation Area

gyd modular successfully obtained planning approval for an eco-friendly, contemporary three-to four-bedroom modular home located in a Conservation Area near several Grade II listed buildings.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the house incorporates prefabricated construction, locally sourced materials, grassed parking, facilities for an electric car, and an integrated bike store – features that collectively minimise its carbon footprint.

The home’s layout is divided into two distinct volumes: one for living spaces and the other for sleeping areas. This separation is echoed in the external finishes, with the living block clad in cedar shingles and equipped with sliding barn doors for added privacy, while the bedroom block is elegantly finished in zinc cladding.

This thoughtful approach blends contemporary design with eco-conscious principles, creating a home that harmonises with its historic surroundings. The house is currently being built using off-site methods of construction. Once photographs are available, we will update this post to showcase the progress.
